CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was all turtle talk at the Omni Hotel today.
The 2020 Southeast Regional Sea Turtle meeting is being held there through Friday.
More than 300 marine experts and students from 11 states and the U.S. territories have gathered here to discuss sea turtle research and conservation programs.
One sea turtle expert told us the Coastal Bend is the ideal location for this year's event.
“In South Texas and Texas overall, you know we're really known for the Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle that’s the state sea turtle of Texas,” Dr. Christopher D. Marshall said. “It’s actually the most critically endangered sea turtle in the world.”
The public is invited to attend from 3 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. tomorrow.
