CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — The Salvation Army is in the middle of its largest single fundraiser for the entire year, and they say they need your help.

So far this year, The Salvation Army has raised just under $100,000. But their goal is set at $215,000.

Money donated helps out programs like the "Angel Tree" program. The program provides Christmas gifts for children who may not otherwise receive them.

The funds also help out other programs with the Salvation Army by doing their best to keep people from sleeping on the streets and setting them up with long term solutions.

Captain Patrick Gesner, who is the commanding officer of Salvation Army of the Coastal Bend, SAID, "The last three years especially, we as a Salvation Army have been focusing on getting people into affordable housing and then them being successful and the good thing for us, in our rapid rehousing program we have had a 97% success rate."
