CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Buying or selling online? The Corpus Christi Police Department has announced four locations in the city that are monitored 24/7 by cameras for residents to exchange online purchases.

“The Exchange Place” is a safe meeting spot for strangers who have made purchases on sites like eBay and Craigslist. The safe exchange locations are listed below.

La Retama Central Library: 805 Comanche Street

Ben F. McDonald Public Library: 4044 Greenwood Drive

Owen R. Hopkins Public Library: 3202 McKinzie Road

Anita & W.T. Neyland Public Library: 1230 Carmel Parkway

At all locations, there are two designated parking spaces for residents to make their exchanges safely.

The police department says to remember the following when meeting strangers for exchanges:

  • Avoid going alone. Always bring someone with you.
  • Avoid giving strangers personal information, including your address.
  • Avoid exchanges at night.
  • Avoid secluded locations or exchanges at a stranger’s home.
  • Let someone know the time and place of your intended exchange.
