CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Several agencies came together to host an event for local veterans, service members and their spouses.
The eighth-annual Red White and You hiring event took place today at the American Bank Center.
Veterans were given the first opportunity to apply for jobs.
It's part of a statewide initiative supported by the governor, the Texas Medical Center and the Texas Veterans Commission.
More than 2,000 positions in the 11-county region need to be filled.
