CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — President Trump issued an executive order this week stating that new federal buildings should “beautify public spaces”, and used the Corpus Christi Federal Courthouse as an example.

"With a limited number of exceptions, such as the Tuscaloosa Federal Building and Courthouse and the Corpus Christi Federal Courthouse, the Federal Government has largely stopped building beautiful buildings”, said Trump in the executive order.

He said new federal buildings should, “like America’s beloved landmark buildings, uplift and beautify public spaces, inspire the human spirit, ennoble the United States, command respect from the general public, and, as appropriate, respect the architectural heritage of a region."

With this order, President Trump has created a new council to advise the president on future federal buildings.
