SINTON, Texas — A cotton bale fire that broke out Monday in San Patricio County may have been started by moisture.
That's the word from the fire marshal.
The fire involved about 400 bales of cotton near the Hartzendorf Gin.
That's on FM 796 in Sinton.
Fire crews from Mathis, Sinton, and Taft were called out to the scene and worked together to extinguish the fire.
It started in one bale but because the bales were stacked closely together, the other bales quickly caught ablaze.
