PORT ARANSAS, Texas — If the Port Aransas ferry crossing is part of your daily commute, you may want to consider an alternate route for the next few days.

Dredging operations at the ship channel are expected to cause delays at the ferry crossing starting tomorrow.

TXDOT says that dredging is expected to continue in the area of the ferries for about two weeks.

That's going to lead to longer wait times for people who use the ferry.
