Port Aransas dredging causes ferry delays

PORT ARANSAS, Texas — Waiting for the Port Aransas Ferry Crossing may take a bit longer starting Wednesday.

TXDOT says dredging operations at the ship channel are expected to cause delays for motorists who use the ferry crossing.

Those delays could cause traffic to back up onto roads leading to the ferry landing.

The 600-foot-long dredge being used to deepen the channel is directly in front of the landing and is expected to be there for the next two weeks.
