Missing A&M-Kingsville professor found dead in Rio Grande Valley

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS — UPDATE (5:59 p.m.): The body of a Texas A&M-Kingsville mathematics professor who had previously been reported missing was found on a beach in Cameron County, near Brownsville, authorities said.

Kingsville Police Chief Ricardo Torres said in a statement Wednesday evening that that the body of Hueytzen Wu, 74, was found on Boca Chica Beach, near South Padre Island and Port Isabel.

ORIGINAL: Kingsville police are looking for a professor who went missing.

Police are looking for Hueytzen Wu, who is a professor at Texas A & M-Kingsville and is an educator with the department of mathematics.

Wu is 74-year-old and wears glasses and he drives a white Nissan Quest with the license plate number F-H-P-8-8-0-4.

Anyone with information about Wu's whereabouts is encouraged to call 361-592-4311.
