CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi police are investigating a pedestrian-auto fatality that snarled traffic in the 6800 block of Weber Road on the southside this morning.
Traffic on Weber from Bratton to WOW was diverted for several hours after the accident, which occurred at 5:54 a.m.
According to police, a 59-year-old man was traveling northbound in his vehicle, when a 46-year-old man attempted to cross the street.
The pedestrian did not use a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing.
Because of this, the driver struck the pedestrian, police said.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
The pedestrian died on scene.
Since the driver cooperated with police, and the pedestrian appeared to be at fault, the driver will not face any charges or citations.
