UPDATE:
The American Bank Center will be shuttling 110 people to the FEMA Center at the West Del Mar Campus. According to Jennifer Buxton with the city of Corpus Christi, they do have some lights on at the facility, but there was a power outage earlier Monday.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The American Bank Center is open this morning in Corpus Christi as a short-term warming shelter.

The weather conditions across the area have sent people flocking to the facility to stay warm from the brutally cold conditions.

They have a 24-hour check in here. KRIS 6 News spoke with Lt. Javier Cantu and he says they everything has been smooth here as far as cooperation goes.

The ABC opened at 4 p.m. Saturday. People were lined up by 1 p.m. to enter and there are well more than 100 people inside.

They are providing meals and PPE.

They also want to thank everyone who has been giving donations but they do ask that you take them to your local charities.
