Convicted murderer Apolinar Moreno will not get an early release from prison.

The Texas Board of Pardons and Parole has denied his request for parole.

Moreno was convicted of murdering Corpus Christi resident Christopher Henderson back in 2004.

And it was four years after the murder before Henderson's remains were found in a shallow grave along Chapman Ranch Road.

The Board of Pardon members said because of the brutal nature of the murder, they felt Moreno still poses a threat to the public.

Moreno's next opportunity to request parole is September 2022.
