CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The owner of a home near Ray High School once lived in by Farrah Fawcett said her property has been burglarized twice since Saturday.

Annette Mayne, who is in the process of selling the house at 926 Rosedale Drive, told KRIS 6 News that the house was plundered on Saturday and then again on Monday morning.

In the first burglary, Mayne said she lost a 60-inch television, bedroom furniture, carpets, jewelry and purses.

“They went through every closet, every door,” she said. “They ransacked everything. They even did the garage and the back apartment on Saturday.”

The house was hit again on Tuesday, soon after she left for work. Her neighbors noticed a man wandering through her house, so they called 911. Police arrived and notified her of the second burglary.

“This guy, I don’t know,” Mayne said. “They could smell synthetic where he was walking. He put his cigarette out on my wall because you could see ashes on my floor. So I think they were coming back to finish what they couldn’t take.”

Corpus Christi Police Department Officer Zak Rogers said a juvenile is believed to be involved, with the suspect riding on a bicycle.

Mayne said she had lived in the house for 23 years without any incidents. She raised her child there and wanted to move after they left her home as she downsized into another home.

“My kid is already grown,” she said. “It was just me and I didn’t want the maintenance and upkeep so I just decided to sell it."

Fawcett was born in Corpus Christi. Her parents, James William Fawcett and Pauline Alice Fawcett, lived in the house among others across the city during her childhood.

Their youngest daughter, Farrah, attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School, Hamlin Junior High and nearby Ray High School, where she graduated from in 1965 and was named the “most beautiful girl” there all four years she attended.

Farrah Fawcett died on June 25, 2009, at the age of 62.

The three-bedroom, 997-square foot house was listed on Zillow.com for $129,500.

The sale of Mayne's house, first listed on Zillow.com 45 days ago, currently is pending.

“Yes,” she said. “I hope it goes through.”

And even though her abode has a piece of Corpus Christi history because of its famous previous resident, Mayne says she is ready to move out.

“I didn’t stay here last night,” she said. “I don’t think I’ll stay here ever again.”
