The start of the school year is not that far away but now is the time to get ready.

Once again KRIS 6 News, The United Way, and H-E-B have teamed up for operation Supply Our Students.

Just tear off a $1. $3 or $5 sheet at the register when checking out and every cent will stay here in the Coastal Bend and be used for school supplies.

"Throughout our 10 counties, there are 59,000 students who really need some help with some basic school supplies. And 100% of what we raise goes towards those supplies." said Libby Averyt, President of United Way Coastal Bend.

Louis Whetsone, the store manager of H-E-B on Saratoga, supports the collaboration.

"The kids when they get their school supplies, the smiles on their face and how good they feel, it just warms your heart," Whetstone said.

The H-E-B tearpads will be available at all H-E-B Registers in the Coastal Bend until Aug. 13.
