CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you're looking to take a little vacation, an exotic location might be a good choice! But, who has time to just get up and leave? Sometimes the foods we eat from a particular place can be a get-away all in itself. So, how do we find that in Corpus Christi?

The perfect food that will take you to another country, is located in the industrial side of town. It's Con Sabor Colombian Restaurant, owned and operated by Milton Asprilla. Corpus Christi native with Colombian roots, he grew up going to Colombia every year with his family. Embracing and falling in love with his culture, Asprilla wanted others to feel the same way he did when he took a bite of Colombian food. At the age of 27, he partnered with his mother and opened Con Sabor off of Leopard St.

You walk in to the sound of Latin music filling the air. Yellow, blue and red jump at you in different forms of decorations throughout the restaurant. Then the smell of home-cooked food hits you. The menu is a little different than most. A grid of pictures showing plates of plates of foods. Asprilla says he wanted to show taste with vision, and hopes people will ask him what the dishes are so he can talk about each plate.

KRIS 6 Reporter Chelsea Torres got a chance to try a few of the popular plates, like chicharrones and plantains. As well as make Colombian-style empanadas. She'll show you what Con Sabor is cooking up on that side of town, and if you're ever free from 11-5 p.m. then you can go taste it all for yourself.
