CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Two Corpus Christi police officers are recognized for their sharp eagle eyes after they both spotted an armed robbery suspect.

According to CCPD, officers were called out to an aggravated robbery at a convenience store located in the 3000 blocks of Port Ave. Sep. 16, 2019.

The clerk reported that a white male wearing blue jeans, a red hat, and who was not wearing a shirt had just robbed her at gunpoint then departed on a bike.

The first officers at the scene radioed a description of the suspect and where he might have traveled.

Senior Officer Santos Garcia and Officer Victoria Fabie responded to the area of the robbery to assist officers. They saw the suspect riding a bike in the area of Chula Vista and Greenwood.

When the suspect made eye contact with the officers, police say the suspect's bike hit the curb and he fell off of his bike.

The suspect raised his hands and surrendered to officer Garcia and Fabie. The officers located money, cigarettes, and a lighter, along with a stolen black gun.

Senior Officer Santos Garcia and Officer Victoria Fabie are recognized for their keen observations and diligent investigation resulting in a felony arrest and the recovery of a stolen handgun, cash, and other contraband.

Victoria Fabie has served a year with the Corpus Christi police department. Senior Officer Santos Garcia has served six years with the department.
