CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — For the second straight day, the National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory from midnight to 7 a.m. CDT on Monday.
Minor coastal flooding, with approximately 1 foot inundation, is expected along the beaches south of Port Aransas near the time of high tide early Monday morning. Tides are currently around 1 foot above astronomical tide, and expect tide levels to peak around 2.0 - 2.1 feet Mean Sea Level (or 1.0 - 1.1 feet inundation) near the time of high tide at Bob Hall Pier.
If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
Poor driving conditions are expected as water reaches the dunes, mainly near times of high tide. Some beach access roads will be impassible. High water levels will also approach low areas along the intracoastal waterways and bays. Coastal flood impacts are dependent upon waves as well as tide level. High waves can increase the severity of impacts.
High tide times will be 3:29 a.m. Monday at Port Aransas and 3:28 a.m. at Bob Hall Pier.
