We now know what it will cost to repair or replace a local landmark that was badly damaged by Hurricane Hanna.
An engineering firm presented its report on Bob Hall Pier to the Nueces County Commissioners Court on Wednesday morning.
The estimated cost to repair the pier, including replacing the obliterated T-head, is $9,050,000. It would cost the county $12,960,000 to demolish the old pier and build a new one.
The court did not decide which course of action to take at Wednesday's meeting, and is currently looking into applying for government funding to offset costs. It currently is unclear if any will be available.
