CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Northside property owners who've been offered buyouts to move from the area near the new Harbor Bridge are running out of time.

Del Richardson and Associates, the group working with those residents, told Port Commissioners this morning they'll make final offers on properties in the Hillcrest-Washington Coles subdivision in December.

The entire buyout program will wrap up in July 2020.

The group has helped about 275 property owners.

“Some had family disputes because there were several people entitled and couldn't come to a resolution with their family members.” Richardson said. “Others had liens against their property and weren't able to secure loans to pay off those liens that would allow them to take advantage of the program. And some people were just happy in Hillcrest and did not want to move.”

The latest numbers include:

Del Richardson says they found 391 property property owners are eligible for the buyout.

They’ve relocated 275 so far and are currently working with about 71 property owners.
