New driver's license law could affect travel plans

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The busy holiday travel season is just a couple of months away, but the ID you use to board flights this year may not work next year.

That's because of a law passed by Congress back in 2005.

As of October 2020, every U.S. citizen must have a ‘Real ID’.

This means your drivers license must now have a gold star on it on the top right.

This is needed to fly anywhere within the U.S.
