CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Coastal Bird Program (CBBEP) has a new boat.
Their new boat hit the waters Nov. 5.
The boat is helping the program do necessary work to take care of our Corpus Christi Bay.
"If you see them out on the water, they are busy getting our rookery islands ready for nesting season, removing trash and harmful debris, building nesting platforms, treating fire ants, and planting native vegetation," their post says.
The CBBEP is a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to researching, restoring and protecting 75 miles of estuarine environment along the Texas coastline. The area includes 12 counties, extending from the land-cut in the Laguna Madre, through the Corpus Christi Bay system, and north to the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.
