CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Early voting for the March primary election begins in February, but you can't vote if you're not registered.
And today was the perfect day to take care of that.
It was National Voter Registration Day.
Every fourth Tuesday in September is set aside to encourage people to register.
"We have an election coming up on the state constitutional amendments,” said Peggy Duran of the League of Women Voters. “And there's some very important things happening there. One of the things we are voting on is whether we want to have a state income tax. So people need to vote."
If you missed your chance today, you can always visit the Nueces County courthouse to register to vote anytime during business hours.
