CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The area around Miller High School was near the area of the fire caused by the ruptured pipeline earlier Monday morning.

We spoke with residents in the area at Interstate 37 and Nandina Drive to learn of how the blaze affected them.

“A neighbor says she was on her way to a doctor's appointment, she was about to leave for a doctor's appointment when she heard a big explosion and noticed that it was the refineries, and from here you keep hearing the gas lines pop,” resident Gina Lopez told KRIS 6 News.

“Everybody coming out, checking, whole bunch of cars making sure what's going on, videotaping, keeping everybody else aware.”

We'll have more about this breaking news story as it becomes known.
