CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city hosted an open enrollment event today, for Medicare recipients and those new to the Medicare system.
State-certified benefits counselors were on site at the Garden Senior Center.
They were providing the most current information regarding plan eligibility - the enrollment process - and a review of the different plan options.
"We're offering everything from HMO’s to PPO’s to Medicare supplements and just basically answering their questions,” said Priscilla Wolf of Aetna. “And if they have a health plan that they don't know what to do with it, we're here to be able to help them maybe make a better choice for next year if that's what they want.”
The city's Parks and Recreation Department and the Coastal Bend-area Agency on Aging teamed up to put on the event for free.
The Medicare open enrollment period runs from now until Dec. 7.
