CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi police have released a man who was wrongly arrested in connection with the Valley Motel shooting last week.
The Corpus Christi police blotter reported that after newly uncovered evidence, Delfino Chavira was released from jail on Wednesday.
Initial information led police into believing that Chavira was the suspect involved in the death of 34-year-old Sophia Lott in a shooting at the motel in the 5300 block of Leopard Street.
According to the initial police report, the shooter apparently fired several shots from outside of the room to kill Lott.
