CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 20-year-old man was sentenced Monday for committing multiple bank robberies, and for possession of a firearm.

Markeist Daquon Reed committed the spree in Dallas and Corpus Christi throughout the month of October in 2018.

Two of those robberies took place in Corpus Christi: the Value Bank located at South Staples Street and the BBVA Compass Bank on Ayers Street. He was arrested during a traffic stop in which authorities found a rifle that linked him to the robberies.

Reed was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison and was handed an additional 84 months for the firearms charge. His sentence will immediately be followed by a three-year supervised release.
