CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Investigators have released the name of a man who was killed after he jumped into the waters off a jetty near the Packery Channel.
Paramedics were called out to the 14000 block of Gulf Beach Road around 3:19 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators said 25-year-old Clark Perkins died from blunt force trauma.
After the incident, Corpus Christi Mayor Joe McComb signed an order Wednesday evening to close vehicle access to all gulf beaches after the death.
Perkins was not believed to be from the area.
