CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Corpus Christi police say a man climbed on top of the Art Museum of South Texas building while trying to evade arrest.

The incident happened in the 1900 block of N. Shoreline Blvd around 6:15 a.m. Thursday.

According to police, officers responded to the American Bank Center for a man trying to open the doors to the building.

When police arrived at the location, the man allegedly ran along the water shoreline, ran through the property of the Army Corp. of Engineers, underneath the Harbor Bridge and eventually climbed atop the Art Museum of South Texas building.

Officers said they had to gain access to roof and found the suspect in an electrical room.

Police say he will be facing two counts of criminal trespass and evading arrest.
