CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man remains hospitalized tonight after tense moments with authorities earlier this afternoon.
The incident started around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of State Highway 44 and McKenzie Road.
Precinct 5 constables received a call about an injured person in the roadway who was waving a weapon.
When deputy constables arrived, they found an injured man in a field nearby.
He was armed, but after negotiations they got him to put down the weapon.
The man did struggle with deputies as they tried to take him into custody and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
There is no word on what charges he may face.
