CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Sunrise Mall was packed with job hunters today.
They were there for Day 2 of a huge CCAD hiring event.
Yesterday it was for veterans only. But today, anyone could show up.
And the turnout was impressive.
The event began at 9 a.m. at the Career Center but people began lining up as early as 4 a.m.
The line stretched from the mall entrance to the parking lot and around the building.
“I'm not sure what positions are available right now, so I'm just here to market myself and see what I can get,” said job applicant Stuart Cassidy.
“Looking for a job, all you can do is hope, and just see where it goes,” applicant Daniel Yanez said.
The long wait had Cassidy looking at the bright side of his long wait.
“Something will happen, stay positive … stay positive,” Cassidy said.
CCAD had 200 positions to fill.
They hope to have future hiring events like this.
