The Corpus Christi City Council has given preliminary approval to an annexation of property along Farm-to-Market Road 43, setting the stage for construction of a new subdivision.
Now discussions are being held to annex County Road 33, which is in the London Elementary School area.
Council member Gil Hernandez said he's having conversations with the county and the London school district to annex County Road 33.
That road is not well-paved, and it's narrow.
It gets busy when parents drop off or pick up their kids at the school.
A new elementary school also is being built on that road.
With new developments now likely, more people will be using County Road 33 to get to and from their homes, but the road needs work, and that's where annexation comes in.
