CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Hemp experts from all over the US are coming together in South Texas to talk about the future of the hemp industry in the Coastal Bend.

The purpose of the symposium is to talk with local farmers, investors, and businesses to educate them about the opportunities that are possible now that Texas legalized hemp back in April.

Topics covered during the informational event will be the medicinal aspects of hemp, compliance and law related to hemp, and hemp markets. Attendees will also have plenty of opportunities to network with hemp professionals and other locals interested in the industry.

"This is really about the farm to market hemp revolution," Kristi Mallow, COO of the Farm to Markert Hemp. said in a press release, "The Federal industrial hemp legislation was established to help our fellow farmers profit from the hemp revolution, but in many cases farmers are being exploited without understanding the true potential of hemp to create their farm legacy. Without successful farmers, there is no hemp revolution."

The event is open to the public and goes from 10 am to 3 pm at the Del Mar College Center for Economic Development.

Tickets and sponsorships are available at their website.
