CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Owners of Ara's Seafood and Steaks are excited about providing a special Halloween experience for those with special hearts.

“I would love for the community to show up as well as the more supporters we have," Ara's owner Ara Babos said. "This is how we come together as a community."

Babos says this will be the first time her business will host a drive-thru trick or treat event for the public on Halloween night. Making the event more special, performers with the Special Hearts from the Arts will be in attendance.

“Our special hearts come in and they are friends with each other they miss their friends," says Sherri Davis, director of the Special Hearts of the Arts. "They miss being together when they walk in. They don’t see anything different. They see friends."

The non-profit holds classes in film, theatre, music and much more for individuals with special needs.

“I like to dance and moving every day and we like to draw the art every time,” Special Heart performer Will Ruzicka said.

Special Hearts performers say they love participating in the various forms of art and are thankful for the community support.

“We as adults we love to put on performances," performer Vicky Hinojosa said. "We love to make people happy. We love to just shine at our best."

Ara’s Seafood and Steaks is located at 6917 S. Staples St. in Corpus Christi. It will begin at 5 p.m. on Halloween night.
