CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — When it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine, more medical front line workers here in the Coastal Bend are getting it.

One registered nurse talked to KRIS 6 News on why she got the new vaccine. She says she has worked in healthcare for decades, she said not only in the Navy, but now, as a home healthcare nurse.

Registered Nurse Madeline Frost says she is a Texas native and when she had the chance to get the vaccine at the Richard M. Borchard Fairgrounds Wednesday, that is exactly what she did.

"I work with susceptible population in home health and if I can do something to protect my patients and myself and my family, I'm going to take the opportunity, " Frost said.

She added she realizes getting the vaccine is a personal decision. But for her, she says it was just the right thing to do.
