MONDAY

Auditions for Evil Dead the Musical at Harbor Playhouse

Halloween is still a few months away, but who's ready to get bloody? The Harbor Playhouse is holding auditions for Evil Dead: The Musical on Monday, August 12th, 13th and 15th at 6:30 PM.

The musical based off the 80's cult horror film makes it way to Corpus Christi this fall. Evil dead follows the heroine Ash and his friends as they face off against forces of darkness alone in the woods.

Ages to audition for this production are 18 and up only!

TUESDAY

Learn the basics of building with Clay at the Art Center

Working with clay is a fun and rewarding experience if you have the proper techniques. The Art Center of Corpus Christi is hosting a Clay 101 Class for anyone looking to get there hands on some clay.

The first of two sessions will take place this Tuesday, August 13, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. The second session is on August 27.

In the first class, topics that will be covered include construction of forms by pinching, coiling, and slab building along with a few simple decorating techniques. The second class teaches the basic fundamentals of glazing and the nature of different glazes.

Here is a breakdown of the prices:

Member: $75 for both sessions.
Non-Member: $80.00 for both sessions
Adult Class 18+

The price includes instruction, clay, and kiln firing.

Make your own Harry Potter crafts this Wednesday

"It's ART time" is hosting a suprise Harry Potter Arts and Crafts camp this week.

It starts on Wednesday, August 12, and goes all the way until August 16.

There will be plenty of wizard themed things to do.

"Join us while we create custom Harry Potter wands, Marauder's maps, paint a Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Griffendor, or Slytherin flag, a 3-D golden snitch on canvas and paint a Hogwarts t-shirt," their event page says.

Woodstock Tribute at the Bay Jammin Concert Series

The 50th Anniversary of Woodstock and the 30th Anniversary of the Bay Jammin Concert Series are both being celebrated on the same day.

it starts at 7:30 pm at Cole Park Amphitheater this Thursday, August 15.

Dreaming in Color, out of Bounds, and the Chanklas will be performing three hours of some of your favorite Woodstock songs and other music from the era.

This event is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to dress up in your favorite 60's attire.

FRIDAY

Go camping at Whataburger Field this Friday

Your dreams of camping out on a professional baseball field have finally come true.

The Corpus Christi Hooks have invited everyone to come camp out at Whataburger Field this Friday, August 16.

They do have a few rules:

1. Movie will begin after the fireworks show.

2. Tents, cots, air mattresses are allowed on berm areas only. Nothing with stakes may be put in the grass in the Outfield.

3. Coolers/Ice Chests are allowed after the game on the warning track only. No wheeled items will be allowed on the grass.

4. Bug sprays and lotions are allowed only outside the field and may not be applied on the field or brought onto the grass in the Outfield.

5. All participants must exit the field by 7 am so that our Grounds Crew can being prepping for the next game.
