CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Incumbent 347th District Judge Missy Medary has jumped to a huge early lead over Guy Williams after absentee numbers were counted.

Figures revealed by the Nueces County Elections Office indicate Medary has polled 81.74 percent with 6,125 votes. Williams has collected 18.26 percent with 1,368 of the 7,493 votes that have been counted so far.

Medary was considered a heavy favorite in the race, but her early margin is even larger than most pundits expected.

We'll be back with more information as the votes are counted throughout the night.
