CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Cinemark theatres will not be reopening on Friday, July 24.
In a statement, the movie theater chain said they are postponing their reopening date due to recent changes in new movie release dates.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shelved several blockbuster summer movies this year and has left theater seats empty across the nation.
"The company continues to evaluate availability of new studio content, the status of the virus, and local government regulations as it plans for the phased reopening of its U.S. theaters," the statement continued.
When a decision is made to reopen theaters, a representative states all locations will reopen with greatly enhanced cleanliness, sanitizing, and safety measures at every step of the moviegoing experience.
