As Christmas day nears, other busy places included shopping centers and malls.
La Palmera Mall was no exception, as customers scrambled to find those last-minute gift items.
We spoke with some shoppers to find out why they waited until the last minute.
"I actually went out of town the week before," said last-minute shopper Cayla Watson. "That's when I planned to go shopping, but I was just traveling instead. Now I have no time to do all the shopping."
"I'm terrible at keeping things a secret," said last-minute shopper lance Sanchez. "So I try to get my last-minute shopping done. That way, you know, people can't find the gifts. So I get them done last minute, I wrap them last minute, and they are ready to go."
And if you're a last-minute shopper you still have time to get some shopping done around town.
Walmart stores just closed moments ago, however Target will stay open until 10 p.m.
And if you need some last-minute grocery items for your Christmas feast, H-E-B stores will remain open until 8 p.m.
