CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A flooding problem on the city's west side is getting a multi-million dollar fix. The General Land Office has approved a $7.2 million grant for the city to build a detention pond in the La Volla Creek area, which is near Greenwood and Holly Road.

KRIS 6 previously reported that area is prone to flooding. In the past, it has caused sewage overflows from the Greenwood Wastewater Treatment plant. The project will be called the 'airport tributary detention pond'.

A construction timeline has not been set.
