KLEBERG COUNTY, TEXAS — The Kleberg County Judge has announced the death of a Commissioner Zaragoza "Shorty" Salinas.
In a statement sent to KRIS 6 News from Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid states, "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that our Commissioner Salinas has passed. Shorty was an amazing individual and a true friend to us all. His devotion to our senior citizens and the underserved population was like no other. He will truly be missed."
Judge Madrid said Salinas died from complications due to the COVID-19 virus.
