CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — More than 1,100 cases of measles have been confirmed in 30 states so far this year: The most in any of the last 25 years.
Though no cases have been reported in the Coastal Bend, some of those cases have been in Texas, and those numbers especially are alarming now that kids are heading back to school.
With it being one of the most contagious diseases, it's important for parents and teachers to take their kids to get their MMR shots, and to know what symptoms to look for in the classroom.
