CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — A man is thankful for first responders after he was pulled from the waters near Indian Point Pier.
The incident happened around 11 a.m. Friday along Highway 181 near Portland.
According to Battalion Chief David Saenz, with the Corpus Christi Fire Department, said, "Water conditions caused a man’s jon boat to drift away. The man got his kayak to retrieve the boat."
Saenz said the water conditions caused the kayak to sink with him in it. The man was wearing a life jacket, but it was too far to swim.
Luckily firefighters got him out of the water.
There were no injuries, but the man said he was very tired.
