CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS — Rough water spoiled a kayaker's fishing trip this morning.
Isaiah Delgado was about a mile and a half from the Bob Hall Pier when things started to go wrong for him.
First, the 23-year-old's kayak started to take on water, and then the conditions threw him out of the kayak and he couldn't get back in.
"And then that led to just a roller coaster of things," said Jim Delgado, Isaiah's father. "The water and the boat talking on water and that was pretty much it. You know he had just had to hold on for dear life."
Isaiah was able to call his girlfriend, and she called 911. A rescue boat found him, and brought him and his kayak back to shore.
Isaiah wasn't hurt, and he even managed to hang on to the part of his catch.
He also had a message for anyone getting out of the water: Wear a life jacket.
