CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi ISD has named Karen Griffith the deputy superintendent of business support services.

Griffith, who formerly served as the assistant superintendent of business and support services for the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District, will begin her work on Monday.

Her prior roles also include serving as assistant superintendent for support services for Kingsville Independent School District.

Griffith has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in business administration, both from Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

“Karen’s breadth and depth of experience made her a clear choice for this leadership position,” CCISD Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez said. “We are grateful she has chosen to return to the Coastal Bend to help us continue the forward momentum we’ve achieved in recent years.”

CCISD will fill additional leadership positions during the summer months.

The 2019- 2020 school year begins for the district on Aug. 26.
