Judges recuse themselves in Padre Island lawsuit

A visiting judge will hear a Padre Island resident's lawsuit to block a proposed workforce housing development.

Three local judges recused themselves from the case yesterday: 214th District Court Judge Inna Klein, 94th District Court Judge Bobby Galvan and 117th District Court Judge Sandra Watts all recused themselves citing personal reasons.

The lawsuit alleges the Padre Island Property Owners Association approved the development despite the fact that it violates the association's covenants.

The lawsuit will be assigned to a visiting judge from Victoria.

The new court date has not yet been set.
