CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Our weekly local fishing report tells you how to catch your limit in our Coastal Bend waters this week.

Popular local fishing guide Joey Farah has a few tips on how to maximize your fishing potential.

"A little bit more wind than yesterday, on Saturday, means you can drift a little bit in your boat, drift the King Ranch shoreline the shrimp and popping corks and again in 4 or 5 feet of water you're gonna catch trout and redfish," Farah said. "With that wind, it's a little bit easier to catch up to that redfish in that shallow water ... they're not as skittish in the low wind."

Farah said to do some drifting in the flats along the Intercoastal Waterway along the Laguna Madre and the small islands south of Bird Island.

As for beach fishing, Farah says the afternoon will be on fire, especially for catching little sharks with cut bait in the guts.

He also says the big red drum will be there too for your catching, just use some live finger mullet.

"This is a great weekend to get out and enjoy the outdoors," Farah said.
