JIM WELLS COUNTY, Texas — Bars that do not serve food will have to close up shop in Jim Wells County.

Officials said they received notice from Texas Health and Human Services that Jim Wells County no longer meets the requirements for the “Opt-In Request for bars to Reopen."

Officials stated effective immediately, all TABC Establishments that do not serve food must close and all establishments that do serve food must limit their capacity to 50%.

Sunday, Jim Wells County Judge Juan Rodriguez and the Office of Emergency Management said they will continue to monitor the information, on a daily basis, that is being shared by state and federal officials regarding COVID-19.
