INGLESIDE, TX — Authorities in Ingleside warning residents about scammers posing as San Patricio County code enforcement officers, these scammers are approaching residents and informing them they have several violations and must pay.

Ingleside Police Chief Tammy Burr told KRIS 6 News how residents can distinguish real code enforcement officers from the impostors.

"Our code enforcement officers have marked vehicles, they wear name tags with the city of Ingleside on them, they also have a name tag you can request to see. These are imposters, we would never ask our people for money.” she said.

Burr believes the pandemic could be a factor for these crimes.

“Everybody is home because of COVID and they are jut trying to pay on whoever they can to make a buck.”

If anyone has doorbell video or pictures of the Scammers, you are asked to turn them into the Ingleside Police Department
