CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Many local businesses and developers have been looking forward to the completion of the new Harbor Bridge.

So, will this setback change anything?

There are plans in place to build a $40 million hotel on North Beach.

But despite design of the bridge being suspended, those plans to build the hotel are still moving forward.

Developer Lynn Frazier says ultimately his project relies on a city council vote which needs to be done by Dec. 9.

A yes vote would allow construction to begin by the end of the year.

Other developers are also hoping to build in the area, but is the harbor bridge hindering progress?

Today, we hope to speak to other developers and businesses about this.

We’ll have that full story tonight on KRIS 6 News.

That council vote that Frazier is waiting on has to do with the canal project proposed by Jeff Blackard.
