CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A local man has been released from the hospital after being attacked during a home invasion.
It happened just before midnight on the 1000 block of Doddridge Street.
The victim said that he was attacked by three men who pounded on his door, claiming they were Drug Enforcement Agency agents.
The victim said he escaped by crawling out of a window. He knocked on several doors. One neighbor who was already calling police told him to run to the Stripes store on the corner of Staples and Doddridge.
A store clerk called police and the victim was taken to the hospital and later released. He had a black eye and his head was bandaged.
He said he is doing okay but has no idea who entered his home.
